{"id":3049,"date":"2023-12-12T01:26:19","date_gmt":"2023-12-12T01:26:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=3049"},"modified":"2023-12-12T01:26:19","modified_gmt":"2023-12-12T01:26:19","slug":"maiden-drilling-at-kulas-cobra-lithium-prospect-yields-pegmatite-hits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=3049","title":{"rendered":"Maiden drilling at Kula\u2019s Cobra lithium prospect yields pegmatite hits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kula Gold\u2019s maiden drilling at Cobra prospects intersects multiple stacked pegmatites<br \/>\nRecent rock chipping and mapping increased Cobra strike to 4.2km<br \/>\nDrill samples sent for laboratory assaying<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Pegmatites have been visually observed in multiple intervals within 11 holes drilled by Kula Gold at the Cobra lithium prospect within its Kirup project in WA, validating its decision to double the size of the drill program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is potentially significant as Cobra is just 20km west of the world\u2019s largest hard rock lithium mine, Greenbushes, whose owners Albemarle, Tianqi and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/igo-limited-igo\/\">IGO (ASX:IGO)<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/next-week-kula-is-drilling-cobra-a-massive-target-next-to-the-worlds-largest-lithium-mine\/\"><strong>spending billions<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to increase their downstream processing output and picking up <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/all-eyes-on-kula-gold-as-maiden-lithium-drilling-begins-next-to-greenbushes\/\"><strong>nearby tenements<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Recent rock chip sampling and mapping carried out by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/kula-gold-kgd\/\">Kula Gold (ASX:KGD)<\/a> had returned pegmatites with high lithium content (up to 240 parts per million) at surface and increased its strike length from 2km to 4.2km.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Appropriate rock types intersected<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Logging of the 11 holes totalling 1,860m has resulted in the identification of visual pegmatites in multiple intervals varying from 3m to interpreted 55m down to a down-hole depth of 210m.<\/p>\n<p>Visual observations are of course no substitute for laboratory analysis and samples from the drilling have been submitted for testing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe maiden Cobra RC drill program intersecting the appropriate rock types that traditionally host LCT mineralisation is a positive start,\u201d KGD managing director Ric Dawson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe combination of encouraging outcrop, geochemistry and geophysics is now evident in the subsurface drilling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Kula Gold, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
