And while it\u2019s getting harder and harder to get into the housing market, some investors are seeing value in real estate stocks.<\/p>\n<p>Recent Selfwealth investor data shows higher conviction in the ASX Real Estate subsector that any other sector.<\/p>\n<p>Even though the average number of trades in the sector are lower than for stock market darlings like the bank-led Financials and mining-led Materials sectors, Selfwealth investor data shows that the ASX Real Estate sector is seeing strong interest.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Selfwealth ASX investor behaviour (October):<\/h2>\n<p><em>Via Selfwealth<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cA key indicator of investor sentiment is the ratio at which they\u2019re buying compared to selling,\u201d says Robert Marfell of the investor platform Selfwealth.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd for the Real Estate sector, our data shows the ratio of buys-to-sells is leagues above all others.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Within the sector, two companies stand out, according to Selfwealth data \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/lendlease-group-llc\/\"><strong>Lendlease Group (ASX:LLC)<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/goodman-group-gmg\/\"><strong>Goodman Group (ASX:GMG)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Marfell notes that these companies are defying a trend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe looked at the top 10 companies in the ASX Real Estate Sector across 2023 to see what investors were buying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe found that investors bought increasing amounts of both Goodman Group and Lendlease from October to late November this year, far more than any other in the sector.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Via Selfwealth<\/p>\n<p>Lendlease made up 19.1% of all top 10 buys in Q3 and Q4 whilst Goodman accounted for 12.8% of all top 10 buys in the same period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe laggard in the sector was <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/vicinity-centres-vcx\/\"><strong>Vicinity Centres (ASX:VCX)<\/strong><\/a> which saw a sell-off for each quarter of 2023,\u201d according to Marfell.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>ASX Real Estate (12 months) best and worst<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>XRE Top 20<\/h2>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>XRE Bottom 20<\/h2>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Smack-bang in the middle:<\/h2>\n<p><em>Via MarketIndex<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Investor sentiment poll<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cSelfwealth sentiment poll in the sector showed 44% of Selfwealth buyers of Lendlease believed the \u2018stocks were undervalued\u2019 while another 14% bought Lendlease \u2018to align with a target portfolio\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe dominant reason for selling was \u2018taking profits\u2019, with 30% quoting this the reason for exiting the stocks,\u201d said Marfell.<\/p>\n<p>Selfwealth investors said their reasons for weighing into Goodman included \u2018aligning with target portfolio\u2019 (24.5%); \u2018diversifying into the sector\u2019 (20.9%); and \u2018earnings potential looks good\u2019(19.8%).<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Goodman Group (ASX:GMG)<\/h2>\n<p><em>Via MarketIndex<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Goodman Group (ASX:GMG) is a global integrated property group with operations throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, the United Kingdom, North America and Brazil.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Selfwealth all-time investor sentiment data: GMG<\/h2>\n<p>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Lendlease (ASX:LLC)<\/h2>\n<p><em>Via MarketIndex<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Lendlease Group is an international property and infrastructure group with operations in Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas.
