appointed a new non-executive director in Neville Power as the company progresses its plans to build a <\/strong><strong>world-class lithium exploration and development business.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s Kangaroo Hills lithium project in WA, just 30km from Mineral Resources\u2019 (ASX:MIN) Mt Marion lithium mine, has potential to host a<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/could-fbms-kangaroo-hills-project-be-the-next-kathleen-valley\/\"><strong>lithium deposit of both scale and tonnage<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Investors like Gina Rinehart\u2019s Hancock Prospecting have demonstrated their support for <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/future-battery-minerals-fbm\/\"><strong>Future Battery Minerals<\/strong><strong>\u2019<\/strong><strong> (ASX:FBM)<\/strong><\/a> accelerated exploration plans at Kangaroo Hills and its Nevada lithium projects by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/lithium-hungry-miner-hancock-cornerstones-future-battery-minerals-7-6m-raise\/\"><strong>strongly backing <\/strong><strong>the company\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>recent <\/strong><strong>$7.6m placement<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now the appointment of Nev Power \u2013 who has more than four decades of experience across mining, minerals processing, construction and steel making plus a 7 year stint as managing director and chief executive director of <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/fortescue-metals-group-fmg\/\"><strong>Fortescue Metals Group (ASX:FMG)<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 is expected to bolster the company\u2019s plans further.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>A solid track record in resources<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>During Power\u2019s tenure, Fortescue more than quadrupled its iron ore production to over 170 million tonnes per annum and positioned itself as the lowest cost supplier of seaborne iron ore to China.<\/p>\n<p>Power is currently a non-executive director of energy explorer and producer, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/strike-energy-stx\/\"><strong>Strike Energy (ASX:STX)<\/strong><\/a> and employment services provider <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/apm-human-services-apm\/\"><strong>APM Human Services International (ASX:APM).<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very pleased to welcome an individual of Nev\u2019s calibre and professional track record to the FBM team,\u201d FBM Non-executive Chairman Mike Edwards said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis achievements within the resources industry are well known, and business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Driving new levels of performance<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cI was attracted to FBM as a function of both the quality of its exploration assets and the energy and talents of its executive team,\u201d Power said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis has seen the company achieve a huge amount in a relatively short period of time, and also holding a very clear vision of where it wants to go in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my experience, these are the makings of an outstanding resources business and one that is already resolutely shareholder value focussed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look forward to helping drive FBM to new levels of performance and profile.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The company is currently gearing up to start reverse circulation drilling in January as part of the resource drilling at the Lone Mountain prospect within its Nevada lithium project, following the completion of the diamond drilling programme.<\/p>\n<p>Drilling at the company\u2019s Kangaroo Hills lithium project in WA will recommence once permitting is received to test Big Red north and the regional prospects Western Grey and
