Anticipation builds as New World Resources\u2019 rocks assay 15pc copper at Javelin"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New World Resources reports assays including 15% copper, 3.1% zinc and 1.16 g\/t gold from Javelin project<br \/>\nResults come from sampling over a very strong 1.2km x 1.0km IP anomaly<br \/>\nSome of the highest grades come from an area of 11 new claims close to the Red Cloud VMS deposit<br \/>\nDrilling is planned to commence in late 2023\/early 2024<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Initial rock sampling at New World Resources\u2019 Javelin Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) project in Arizona, USA, has returned high grade assays up to 15% copper.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Javelin is just one project in the company\u2019s copper portfolio which also includes the high grade Antler flagship, where NWC just signed a binding agreement whereby UK-listed Trident Royalties will provide <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/new-worlds-copper-plans-heat-up-as-trident-backs-11-million-antler-royalty-agreement\/\"><strong>$11 million in exchange for a 0.9% NSR royalty on future metal production <\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In July, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/new-world-resources-nwc\/\"><strong>New World Resources (ASX:NWC)<\/strong><\/a> identified a 1.2km x 1km strong Induced Polarization (IP) geophysical anomaly at the earlier-stage Javelin project<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Potentially sizable copper system at depth<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>During recent field work to follow up in advance of drilling, multiple rock samples were collected over and around the IP anomaly, with recently received assay results including:<\/p>\n<p>8.1% copper, 49 g\/t silver and 0.68 g\/t gold;<br \/>\n4.7% copper and 0.2% zinc;<br \/>\n3.9% copper and 3.5% zinc; and<br \/>\n3.7% copper, 180 g\/t silver and 2.14 g\/t gold.<\/p>\n<p>Considerable chalcopyrite (copper-sulphide) has been located at multiple sites, which confirms that primary, not just supergene, copper mineralisation is present in the target area.<\/p>\n<p>This further highlights the potential for the undrilled anomaly to be associated with Cu-rich VMS mineralisation at depth, the company says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very excited to have discovered outcropping mineralisation over the shallowest portion of the large, strong Discus IP chargeability anomaly that we delineated recently\u201d NWC MD Mike Haynes said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is somewhat unexpected, as the strongest parts of the IP anomaly had been modelled to lie 300-400 metres beneath the surface.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEqually, the substantial lateral dimensions of the IP anomaly \u2013 which extends over an area of 1.2km x 1.0km \u2013 together with the considerable strength of the anomaly, provide significant encouragement that this response stems from a sizeable sulphide-rich mineralised system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pic: Plan view showing location of rock samples and select assay results, collected recently over the strong Discus IP anomaly at the Javelin VMS project<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Drilling planned late 2023\/early 2024<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>During recent field work, the company became aware that an area to the northeast of the Discus IP anomaly was \u2018open for staking\u2019, so it secured a 100% interest in 11 new claims covering an additional 132 acres of mineral rights along strike to the north-east of the anomaly.<\/p>\n<p>The claims are close to the Red Cloud VMS deposit, where 200 tonnes of ore were reportedly mined at an average grade of 6.4% copper, 2.7% zinc, 23.6 g\/t silver and 2.6 g\/t gold.<\/p>\n<p>This is important, as VMS deposits often occur in clusters. And some of the highest grades reported from the recent rock sampling have come from these new claims, indicating additional mineralisation may be present at depth.<\/p>\n<p>The company is planning to undertake IP surveying over the new claims area in the near-term to determine whether strong IP anomalism may also be present below those samples \u2013 which would help define initial drill targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are expecting our application for a permit to drill test this anomaly for the first time to be approved in the near term,\u201d Haynes said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will then get the requisite reclamation bond in place, before commencing a maiden drilling program late this year, or early next.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith previous production of high-grade VMS mineralisation recorded from six deposits within this geological belt, this target provides us with a compelling opportunity to discover high-grade mineralisation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the company currently has a diamond core drilling rig operating 75km away at its <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/new-world-shores-up-mineral-rights-around-its-antler-copper-project\/\"><strong>Antler <\/strong><strong>c<\/strong><strong>opper <\/strong><strong>p<\/strong><strong>roject<\/strong><\/a> to grow the 11.4Mt at 4.1% CuEq resource.<\/p>\n<p>It is anticipated this rig will be mobilised to the Javelin project to undertake initial drilling.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This article was developed in collaboration with New World Resources, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
