Good morning everyone, and welcome to 12 July, 2024 \u2013 an important day in the history of being not even remotely the first European to find Australia.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s because it was on this day in 1771 that Captain James Cook returned to England after a two-year voyage around the Pacific Ocean to allow for a clean-up crew to scrub The Endeavour and re-stock the all-you-can-eat buffet ahead of another journey south.<\/p>\n

Oddly enough, it was on this day in 1776 that Cook left England again, on the same boat with quite a few of the same people on board, for his third and final cruise among the Pacific islands.<\/p>\n

This time round, he did \u201cdiscover\u201d Australia in the face of some people who were clearly already living here \u2013 and then sailed off over the horizon again, only to die at the hands of some far more angry Hawaiian locals in 1779.<\/p>\n

Years later the salty sea dog\u2019s statue suffered a similar fate at the hands of some St Kilda locals.<\/p>\n

Yesterday\u2019s Small Cap Winners included:<\/h2>\n

Augustus Minerals (ASX:AUG)<\/a> was well out in front early on news of substantial fresh rock chips from its Ti-Tree project in the Gascoyne region, with chips coming in as high as 35% copper and 236g\/t silver from rock chip assays at the company\u2019s Tiberius prospect.<\/p>\n

Savannah Resources (ASX:SVG)<\/a> was up on news of the completion of the Share Purchase Agreement for the sale of Savannah\u2019s remaining shareholding in Renison Coal, the entity that owns the Ashford Coking Coal Project, to Clara Resources.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Clara Resources Australia (ASX:C7A)<\/a> was up on news that it has sold its holding in LSE-listed First Tin via an Institutional Bookbuild conducted by UK-based Arlington Group at GBP\u00a30.04 (picked up by Metals X (ASX:MLX)<\/strong><\/a> no less), to raise net proceeds of about A$4.3 million, settling on 12 July 2024.<\/p>\n

Synlait Milk (ASX:SM1)<\/a> was up on news that A2 Milk (ASX:A2M)<\/a> is set to vote in favour of Synlait receiving a $130 million shareholder loan from Bright Dairy International Investment, a related company of Bright Dairy Holding, Synlait\u2019s 39.01% shareholder.<\/p>\n

Lithium Australia (ASX:LIT)<\/a> moved higher on Thursday on news that its recycling operations have achieved maiden Operating Cash Profit in Q4 FY24, with the company now focused on growing that operating profit on a sustainable basis.<\/p>\n

Adavale Resources (ASX:ADD)<\/a> climbed on news that it\u2019s all set to go drilling for uranium in South Australia, following the acquisition of 100% interests in tenement EL6553 from Kilonova Metals. The company is set to undertake 3,000m of drilling to test priority Marree Embayment targets at the site.<\/p>\n

And Zelira Therapeutics (ASX:ZLD)<\/a> was up on news that it has had a positive meeting with US FDA officials to discuss its HOPE autism drug program. Zelira says the meeting request was met with a prompt reply from the FDA, and that it is looking forward to receiving the official minutes of the meeting soon.<\/p>\n
