{"id":12133,"date":"2024-07-11T03:12:58","date_gmt":"2024-07-11T03:12:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=12133"},"modified":"2024-07-11T03:12:58","modified_gmt":"2024-07-11T03:12:58","slug":"trinex-minerals-finds-new-spodumene-field-at-halo-yuri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=12133","title":{"rendered":"Trinex Minerals finds new spodumene field at Halo-Yuri"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Numerous pegmatite outcrops have been identified at Halo-Yuri<br \/>\nThree new prospects have been named (Kick, Jagged and Amber)<br \/>\nPreparation of a Land Use Permit Application is underway<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special report<\/em>: Unexpected walk-up drill targets have been discovered in a newly identified spodumene-bearing pegmatite field at Trinex Minerals\u2019 Halo-Yuri project in Canada. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/trinex-minerals-tx3\/\"><strong>Trinex Minerals (ASX:TX3)<\/strong><\/a> was one of the first movers in Canada\u2019s Northwest Territories, an emerging critical minerals hot spot with spodumene-bearing pegmatites up to 1,800m long and 40m wide.<\/p>\n<p>The explorer acquired three projects in late 2023 with Halo-Yuri \u2013 at about 450km2 \u2013 representing both the largest and northernmost of the three assets.<\/p>\n<p>While historical exploration found spodumene-bearing pegmatites, most of the work focused on finding diamonds which left hundreds of pegmatites virtually untouched.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Four areas with spodumene outcrops <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In its efforts to rapidly assess Halo-Yuri, TX3 has completed its first phase of field work which successfully identified four separate areas with numerous spodumene-bearing outcrops and boulders across the northern half of the project area.<\/p>\n<p>Spodumene-bearing boulder with spodumene highlighted. Pic: Trinex Minerals<\/p>\n<p>Three new prospects \u2013 Kick, Jagged and Amber \u2013 are up to 3km in strike length and at least 30m wide.<\/p>\n<p>Additional claims have been staked on the eastern side of the project to surround the eastern extension of the Kick prospect.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Ground checking turns into pegmatite field discovery <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cWe initially aimed at ground-checking numerous areas for follow-up sampling, instead we discovered a new spodumene-bearing pegmatite field in the north of the project that presents walk up drill targets,\u201d Trinex Minerals managing director Will Dix says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResults have exceeded our expectations, and we are eager to share the assay results from the samples collected as soon as they become available.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNext steps at Halo-Yuri will be to determine the most optimal drill sites to test the extent of the pegmatites and incorporate this into a Land Use Permit Application that will be submitted in the next few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have only just started to build a picture of the potential at our Canadian lithium projects, and we remain encouraged by what we have seen in initial exploration programs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Looking ahead <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Preparation of a Land Use Permit Application is underway, to be submitted within the next month.<\/p>\n<p>As mapping progressed, it was realised numerous mineralised outcrops discovered are not readily apparent in satellite imagery, likely due to the lichen and moss common on these outcrops.<\/p>\n<p>This suggests there is potential for the discovery of further spodumene-bearing pegmatites outcrop across the northern part of the project.<\/p>\n<p>TX3 is looking into other techniques, such as high-resolution hyperspectral imagery, to aide further discoveries in areas of poor outcrop.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Trinex Minerals, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
