{"id":12029,"date":"2024-07-09T01:24:44","date_gmt":"2024-07-09T01:24:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=12029"},"modified":"2024-07-09T01:24:44","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T01:24:44","slug":"eagle-mountain-mining-confirms-copper-porphyry-style-targets-in-arizona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=12029","title":{"rendered":"Eagle Mountain Mining confirms copper porphyry-style targets in Arizona"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eagle Mountain Mining finds multiple, large-scale copper porphyry targets at Silver Mountain project<br \/>\nCompany confident targets align with major porphyry deposits in Arizona<br \/>\nGeophysics review and strategic review currently underway<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Eagle Mountain Mining has defined large copper porphyry-style targets at its Silver Mountain project in Arizona, USA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The project is on the Laramide Arc, a northwest-southeast trending geological feature containing world-class porphyry copper mines such as Bagdad, Miami and Resolution in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>It also lies on the southern extension of a northeast-southwest prospective metallogenic belt, which hosts the extremely high-grade United Verde and Iron King deposits, two historical mines of volcanogenic massive sulphide affinity.<\/p>\n<p>The multiple, large-scale targets were found via a 3D seismic survey using Fleet Space\u2019s ExoSphere solution, which is used across the exploration and mining sector to improve geological understanding and generate prospective targets up to two kilometres deep.<\/p>\n<p>The company notes the new targets have a strike length of around 2kms with the depth to the top of the targets at around 300m \u2013 and have a structural setting and surface mapping that aligns with other major porphyry deposits in Arizona.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Pinpointing deeper targets<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/eagle-mountain-mining-em2\/\"><strong>Eagle Mountain Mining (ASX:EM2)<\/strong><\/a> CEO Tim Mason says that while historical indicators suggested the potential for large mineralised systems at Silver Mountain, younger rock cover hampered the ability to pinpoint deeper targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new seismic data has effectively unlocked this geological potential,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese new findings highlight an unexplored, western target zone, well beyond the past exploration efforts that were focused on the eastern volcanogenic massive sulphide horizon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cExtensive mapping has identified encouraging alteration zones along with structures that may have acted as pathways for mineralised fluids originating from a large, buried, heat source and showing themselves as the extensive copper, gold and silver surface occurrences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPropylitic alteration, found on the outer edges of porphyry deposits, was found at the bottom of previously drilled diamond holes in the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese holes were terminated about 100 metres above one of the porphyry-style targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Silver Mountain property is exceeding expectations and has solidified its place in our exploration strategy moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pic: Section view looking NW of seismic velocity model from Silver Mountain with interpreted geological features such as alteration and structures. Source: EM2.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These prospective targets are yet to be tested, as all previous drilling has only progressed through the lowest velocity regions (of approximately &lt; 2800 m\/s).<\/p>\n<p>Additional high velocity zones have been identified from the survey, with follow-up work including review and re-processing of existing geophysics to aid interpretation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Strategic review underway<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Following recent interest in Eagle Mountain\u2019s Oracle Ridge project due to the news that Grupo Mexico may be planning to restart their Hayden copper smelter about 100kms north of the project, the company has initiated a strategic review.<\/p>\n<p>Notably, this smelter previously treated Oracle Ridge concentrates and presents a strategic opportunity for future processing of concentrate from the project.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, the scoping study will continue to progress concurrently with the strategic review, which is due for completion in Q4 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Eagle Mountain Mining, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
