{"id":12006,"date":"2024-07-08T06:13:00","date_gmt":"2024-07-08T06:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=12006"},"modified":"2024-07-08T06:13:00","modified_gmt":"2024-07-08T06:13:00","slug":"asx-junior-using-data-to-recharge-metals-hunt-at-brandy-hill-south","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=12006","title":{"rendered":"ASX junior using data to recharge metals hunt at Brandy Hill South"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Technical analysis of Brandy Hill South to steer low-cost exploration of the copper-gold project<br \/>\nProject has potential for higher grade porphyry-style copper mineralisation<br \/>\nRecharge continues to advance its Canadian lithium and uranium portfolio, with field work ongoing<\/p>\n<p>Special Report: Recharge Metals is revisiting its Brandy Hill South copper-gold project in WA\u2019s Mid West with technical analysis of historical data to drive exploration efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Brandy Hill South is located within the Archaean Gullewa Greenstone Belt in WA, ~50km north-east of Morawa.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s the same belt the long-running Deflector copper-gold deposit is on, currently owned and run by <strong>Red 5 (ASX:RED)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Recharge Metals (ASX:REC) acquired Brandy Hill South from Revolution Mining during 2021. Prior to this, drilling within the project had been restricted to reconnaissance rotary air-blast and aircore drilling, along with just five shallow reverse circulation drill holes.<\/p>\n<p>Drilling in 2007 by <strong>Independence Group (ASX:IGO)<\/strong> targeting copper anomalism intersected a zone of strong copper-gold-silver mineralisation, including 1m at 2.15g\/t gold, 112g\/t silver and 2.10% copper, within a broader interval of 12m at 1.10% copper.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a decent hit, however IGO dismissed the idea of following up as it was looking for nickel at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Recharge\u2019s past drilling<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Recharge completed an extensive drilling program at Brandy Hill South during 2021 and 2022, punching 20 RC drillholes and one diamond hole plus eight diamond drillholes with RC pre-collars across 6710m.<\/p>\n<p>Results included 77m at 0.35% copper from 209m and 24m at 0.55% copper from 48m.<\/p>\n<p>Compiled results show copper mineralisation over a 500m strike length that remains open in all directions.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Past drilling across the identified 500m-long mineralised strike length at Brandy Hill South. Pic supplied: (REC)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Another high-grade copper porphyry in the Mid West?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A technical review of Brandy Hill South by highly regarded geologist Dr Steve Beresford incorporated visual logging, pXRF data, laboratory assay results from REC\u2019s previous drilling programs and Tornado micro XRF imagery of drill core.<\/p>\n<p>Inspection of drill core and assay data from Brandy Hill South supports the presence of the characteristic potassic and propylitic alteration haloes which are associated with porphyry systems.<\/p>\n<p>Based on those findings, Dr Beresford believes there\u2019s potential for higher grade porphyry style copper mineralisation at Brandy Hill South.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr Steve Beresford\u2019s technical review arose from our desire to put new eyes on Brandy Hill South while our recent focus was on critical and strategic minerals in North America,\u201d REC MD Felicity Repacholi says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are encouraged by Steve\u2019s observations and findings, which has provided a relatively simple low-cost work program to advance the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCopper is one of the key commodities in the global energy transition yet there are relatively few new projects which have emerged in recent times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShould exploration be successful, we anticipate substantial interest in Brandy Hill South going forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Multiple copper porphyries exist around WA\u2019s Mid West and Wheatbelt regions, such as the 3Mt Caravel deposit near Calingiri.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Recharge Metals, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
