{"id":11758,"date":"2024-07-03T00:30:24","date_gmt":"2024-07-03T00:30:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11758"},"modified":"2024-07-03T00:30:24","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T00:30:24","slug":"miramar-resources-spots-potential-8-mile-dam-gold-deposit-extension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11758","title":{"rendered":"Miramar Resources spots potential 8 mile dam gold deposit extension"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Miramar Resources\u2019 IP survey outlines potential extension to Northern Star\u2019s 8 Mile Dam deposit<br \/>\nCompany says anomaly is shallower than expected<br \/>\nDrill testing planned after maiden Bangemall Ni-Cu-Co-PGE drilling complete <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Miramar Resources has upgraded their 8-Mile target within the Gidji JV project \u2013 a high priority gold prospect adjacent to Northern Star Resources\u2019 313,000oz 8 Mile Dam deposit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Back in 2022, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/miramar-resources-m2r\/\"><strong>Miramar Resources (ASX:M2R)<\/strong><\/a> completed an Offset Pole-Dipole Induced Polarisation survey which highlighted a chargeability anomaly offset approximately 400m to the northeast from the 8 Mile Dam IP anomaly and beneath several aircore holes, which returned end of hole results greater than 2g\/t gold.<\/p>\n<p>The company has now completed another IP survey north of the 2022 survey lines.<\/p>\n<p>Together, the two IP surveys have outlined an IP chargeability anomaly over a strike length of approximately 1.1km with a shallower anomaly at the northern end of the survey and beneath aircore hole GJAC288, which ended in 1.21g\/t Au.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Drill testing planned this year<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Miramar\u2019s executive chairman Allan Kelly said the new IP anomaly was shallower than expected. The company is working off a theory that the 8 Mile Dam deposit currently owned by Australia\u2019s biggest standalone gold miner continues into Miramar\u2019s ground.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt appears the 8 Mile Dam deposit could continue for some distance to the north but has been offset by faulting, including at the tenement boundary,\u201d Kelly said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that we have multiple aircore holes ending in elevated gold over the IP anomalies strengthens this theory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s also pleasing to see that the northern part of the IP anomaly is shallower than expected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pic: Location of the Gidji JV project, 15kms north of Kalgoorlie-Boulder in Western Australia\u2019s world-class Eastern Goldfields Gold Province.
