{"id":1175,"date":"2023-11-09T01:32:57","date_gmt":"2023-11-09T01:32:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=1175"},"modified":"2023-11-09T01:32:57","modified_gmt":"2023-11-09T01:32:57","slug":"olympio-metals-abitibi-hub-project-in-quebec-has-a-new-1-3km-pegmatite-to-add-to-its-drill-campaign","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=1175","title":{"rendered":"Olympio Metals\u2019 Abitibi Hub project in Qu\u00e9bec has a new 1.3km pegmatite to add to its drill campaign"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 1.3km LCT pegmatite outcrop has been discovered at Cadillac<br \/>\nThe tenure is nestled 100km south of the prolific James Bay lithium precinct<br \/>\nField crews are on the ground mapping and drilling approvals submitted for a maiden drill program<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em><\/strong><strong> A large new lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite along 1.3km of strike has been identified at Olympio Metals\u2019 Cadillac project in Qu\u00e9bec, Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Cadillac project is strategically located within <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/sayona-mining-sya\/\"><strong>Sayona Mining\u2019s (ASX:SYA)<\/strong><\/a> Abitibi Hub in Qu\u00e9bec, less than 100km from Canada\u2019s only operating lithium mine and fellow ASX explorer <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/winsome-resources-wr1\/\"><strong>Winsome Resources\u2019 (ASX:WR1)<\/strong><\/a> Decelles project at the southern end of James Bay, Canada\u2019s burgeoning lithium district.<\/p>\n<p>First-pass drilling completed by Vision Lithium in 2022 intersected spodumene-bearing LCT pegmatites with visible crystals in the drill core that showed high grades of up to 3.14% Li2O.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/olympio-metals-oly\/\"><strong>Olympio Metals (ASX:OLY)<\/strong><\/a> is looking to prove up a sizeable cache of lithium at the tenure and has already been encouraged by Phase 2 exploration where rock chips confirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/lithium-sampling-blitz-to-define-maiden-drill-targets-at-olympio-metals-high-grade-cadillac-project\/\"><strong>high-grade lithium of up to 7.43% Li2O<\/strong><\/a> at surface.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocation, location, location remains the key for Olympio and the Cadillac project\u201d managing director Sean Delaney told <em>Stockhead<\/em> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving a lithium exploration asset just 50 kilometres from Val d\u2019Or is a massive advantage particularly when you consider future development prospects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInfrastructure is already in place, while costs to explore there are a lot lower given the proximity of local drillers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGiven that previous drilling intersected visible spodumene crystals within the Cadillac system, we firmly believe we\u2019re in the best place to look right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Abitibi lithium hub with contained projects. Pic supplied: (OLY).<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A large new LCT pegmatite trend has been mapped along 1.3km of strike at an average mapped width of &gt;50m, confirming a \u201csignificant scale of the target\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On top of this, a number of large-scale pegmatites in the Dyke M zone have been identified as priority targets for an upcoming drilling campaign.<\/p>\n<p>At Dykes M1-M6, OLY has discovered a series of large-scale pegmatites southeast of the Wells-Lacourciere spodumene-bearing dykes that are up to 400m long and 70m wide, providing another large target area.<\/p>\n<p>Dykes F, G and H show strong fractionated pegmatite trends with a potassium-to-rubidium (K\/Rb) ratio of &lt;30 \u2013 consistent with the established theory of containing fertile lithium.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Next movements<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Exploration contractors Explo-logik have returned to the field for a Phase 3 exploration program and crews are utilising portable XRF and LIBS analysers to conduct sampling to help speed up the exploration process and exploit geochemical trends.<\/p>\n<p>The team has also started the approvals process for Olympio\u2019s first drilling program of priority targets, scheduled to commence in the upcoming Quebec winter.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Cadillac Dyke locations. Pic supplied: (OLY)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur exploration teams have used the XRF and LIBS analysers in the field to great effect,\u201d Delaney continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI visited the Cadillac project last week and inspected a number of the targets in the field, including Dyke Z, with the Explo-Logik field team and experienced Canadian geologist Jean Lafleur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was great to see first-hand the scale of the targets, especially Dyke Z, which is a very large, raised topographic feature, largely covered in moss and vegetation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese targets are all close to the known spodumene occurrences at Wells-Lacourci\u00e8re which provides confidence that we are in the right area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Olympio Metals, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
