{"id":11369,"date":"2024-06-26T01:12:07","date_gmt":"2024-06-26T01:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11369"},"modified":"2024-06-26T01:12:07","modified_gmt":"2024-06-26T01:12:07","slug":"iec-completes-heritage-work-for-maggie-hays-hill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11369","title":{"rendered":"IEC completes heritage work for Maggie Hays Hill"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IEC completes heritage clearance survey at its Maggie Hays Hill project<br \/>\nSurvey will clear the way for drilling to test for lithium spodumene and\/or gold deposits<br \/>\n2000m drill program will start shortly after the heritage clearance is approved<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Intra Energy Corporation is a step closer towards drilling at its high priority Maggie Hays Hill project near Esperance in WA after successfully completing a heritage clearance survey.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The 80%-owned Maggie Hays project covers 49km2 of ground and is adjacent to the Norseman-Hyden road and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/poseidon-nickel-pos\/\"><strong>Poseidon Nickel\u2019s (ASX:POS)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Maggie Hays and Emily Ann nickel mines.<\/p>\n<p>This region has seen a great deal of activity with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/rio-tinto-rio\/\"><strong>Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0farming into Charger Metals\u2019 (ASX:CHR) tenements in a potential $42.5m deal as well as CHR acquiring all of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/lithium-australia-lit\/\"><strong>Lithium Australia\u2019s (ASX:LIT)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0joint venture tenements.<\/p>\n<p>A lithium discovery by TG Metals (ASX:TG6) last year sparked a rush of interest in the region, with market giant Mineral Resources (ASX:MIN) briefly considering plans to purchase Poseidon\u2019s Lake Johnston plant and convert it to process the locale\u2019s spodumene bounty.<\/p>\n<p>Maggie Hays boasts faulted mafic and ultramafic rocks that are prospective for gold, lithium and nickel.<\/p>\n<p>Recent soil sampling by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/intra-energy-iec\/\"><strong>Intra Energy Corporation (ASX:IEC)<\/strong><\/a> has <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/intra-energy-outlines-strong-gold-anomaly-at-maggie-hays-hill-ahead-of-drilling\/\"><strong>defined a strong anomaly<\/strong><\/a> \u2013 with gold values between 15 parts per billion and 85ppb \u2013 that is about 700m long and 100-170m wide along a mineralised trend that extends 1km to the north.<\/p>\n<p>Along with recent assay results from the Central gold zone that confirmed historical trenching and drilling results, the company believes there is\u00a0great potential for a gold discovery.<\/p>\n<p>Field mapping has also identified quartz reefs occupying dilational jogs along the shear zone, which are strongly correlated with the elevated gold results.<\/p>\n<p>The project is 25km north of TG Metals\u2019 Burmeister Hill and CHR\u2019s Lake Medcalf lithium spodumene discoveries.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lake Johnston lithium province showing spodumene discoveries and tenement holdings. Pic: Intra Energy Corporation<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Heritage survey<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>IEC has now completed the heritage clearance survey over the 2.5km long Southern pegmatite lithium target \u2013 a soil and outcrop anomaly akin to Burmeister \u2013 as well as the central and northern gold targets.<\/p>\n<p>The completed survey is a critical step forward in the company\u2019s exploration strategy as it facilitates the forthcoming drilling program aimed at discovering spodumene and\/or gold deposits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPending the final report, this survey has the potential to enable the company to start drilling at the project in a few weeks\u2019 time. Early success from the program would allow us to keep drilling uninterrupted for next 6-12 months,\u201d managing director Ben Dunn said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe company has planned a 2000 metre reverse circulation (RC) drilling program, agreed terms with a drilling contractor and is in the process of finalising contract.
