{"id":11037,"date":"2024-06-18T01:38:43","date_gmt":"2024-06-18T01:38:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11037"},"modified":"2024-06-18T01:38:43","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T01:38:43","slug":"recharge-metals-kicks-off-james-bay-lithium-drive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11037","title":{"rendered":"Recharge Metals kicks off James Bay lithium drive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recharge begins fieldwork at Wapistan project in James Bay, Canada<br \/>\nRegion a hotspot of lithium exploration and development<br \/>\nOnce traverses are complete, assays are expected in 6-8 weeks<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Recharge Metals has commenced its 2024 exploration season at the Wapistan project in the lithium-rich James Bay region of Quebec, Canada.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fieldwork has now begun across 8km of previously untested prospective greenstones at Wapistan West, where limited sampling in 2023 confirmed highly fractionated LCT-pegmatites \u2013 and therefore the potential to host lithium mineralisation.<\/p>\n<p>Only 5km of the 13km greenstone belt in the Wapistan West claim block was mapped and sampled during the 2023 field season due to a wildfire emergency in the James Bay area that meant only \u201cwalk-in, walk-out\u201d traverses were possible.<\/p>\n<p>This led to a compressed exploration season for all operators in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to get back on the ground at Wapistan, following the melt of the snow and ice, and to resume our groundwork at what we believe to be the most prospective ground within the project,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/recharge-metals-rec\/\"><strong>Recharge Metals\u2019 (ASX:REC)<\/strong><\/a> managing director Felicity Repacholi said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to be working again with Dahrouge Geological, who are already in the region and therefore able to quickly and efficiently complete this work program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Hotspot for lithium exploration<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Wapistan West claim block is closest to Q2 Metals\u2019 (TSXV:QTWO) Mia lithium project and Ophir Gold Corp\u2019s (TSXV:OPHR) Radis lithium project.<\/p>\n<p>Exploration has confirmed the presence of spodumene-hosted lithium occurrences at both projects, with intersections reported of 17.8 m at 1.51% Li2O including 12.2 m of 2.16% Li2O at Mia and assays of 2.33%, 1.68 % and 1.17% Li2O at Radis.<\/p>\n<p>Recharge is confident these regional results bolster the lithium prospectivity at Wapistan West.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Eeyou Istchee James Bay region, within which Wapistan in located, remains a hotspot for exploration and development stage lithium projects,\u201d Repacholi said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Pic: Wapistan lithium project location.
