{"id":11033,"date":"2024-06-18T01:46:48","date_gmt":"2024-06-18T01:46:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11033"},"modified":"2024-06-18T01:46:48","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T01:46:48","slug":"asx-health-stocks-cardiex-jumps-15pc-on-sales-update-recces-drug-included-in-whos-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11033","title":{"rendered":"ASX Health Stocks: Cardiex jumps 15pc on sales update; Recce\u2019s drug included in WHO\u2019s report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cardiex jumps after sales update<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/cardiex-cdx\/\">Cardiex (ASX:CDX)<\/a> jumped +15% this morning after reporting a sales update.<\/p>\n<p>The company said its sales have been strong, pointing towards potential record revenues for FY24.<\/p>\n<p>Significant contributions have come from its pharmaceutical sales division and markets serving research and clinicians.<\/p>\n<p>Projected revenues for FY24 are now expected to exceed $12 million, a substantial increase from $6.01 million in FY23.<\/p>\n<p>Sales to the research market in May marked a six-month high, and with June historically being its strongest month in this sector, the company anticipates achieving record research sales by the end of the financial year.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, under new leadership, CDX\u2019s pharmaceutical team is actively exploring multiple new opportunities, aiming to sustain sales growth from FY24 into FY25.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the company said the first batch of its <strong>Conneqt Pulse<\/strong> production units is set to arrive in early July.<\/p>\n<p>These units will be distributed to CDX\u2019s initial pilot partners, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and members of its clinician network.<\/p>\n<p>A full production run of 3,000 units is scheduled for Q1 FY25, with deliveries to the US starting at that time.<\/p>\n<p>Importantly, the company says it has over 30,000 units in chip inventory and a robust relationship with chip suppliers, ensuring readiness to fulfill future orders.<\/p>\n<p>The Conneqt Pulse is a wearable health monitoring device designed to track various physiological parameters such as blood pressure and heart rate.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s intended to provide users with real-time health insights and facilitate proactive management of cardiovascular health.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Recce\u2019s R327 included in WHO\u2019s report<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/recce-pharmaceuticals-rce\/\">Recce Pharmaceuticals (ASX:RCE)<\/a><\/strong>, a company pioneering synthetic anti-infectives, has achieved a significant milestone with its primary candidate, RECCE 327 (R327).<\/p>\n<p>R327 has been included in the World Health Organization\u2019s (WHO) latest report on Antibacterial Agents in Clinical Development and Preclinical Development.<\/p>\n<p>The WHO report assesses both traditional and innovative antibacterial agents under development globally.<\/p>\n<p>It specifically evaluates how well these compounds address infections caused by priority pathogens identified in the WHO\u2019s updated 2024 list.<\/p>\n<p>R327 stands out in the report as it is categorised by the WHO as an ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) production disruptor, a unique classification within the report.<\/p>\n<p>ATP serves as the primary energy source within cells for various functions. By disrupting ATP production directly, rather than through secondary mechanisms, R327 shows potential effectiveness against a broad spectrum of bacterial pathogens, including both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a demand for new antibiotic therapies, and this report further showcases R327\u2019s potential as a novel treatment for a broad range of life-threatening and resistant bacteria,\u201d said CEO of Recce Pharma, James Graham.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>Clinuvel starts new program on Parkinson\u2019s<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/clinuvel-pharmaceuticals-cuv\/\">Clinuvel Pharmaceuticals (ASX:CUV)<\/a><\/strong> has announced a new clinical program to study <strong>afamelanotide<\/strong> as a potential treatment for early-stage Parkinson\u2019s Disease (PD) in fair-skinned patients.<\/p>\n<p>This drug activates a receptor called melanocortin-1 (MC1R), which is important in both skin and brain cells.
