{"id":11021,"date":"2024-06-18T01:33:57","date_gmt":"2024-06-18T01:33:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11021"},"modified":"2024-06-18T01:33:57","modified_gmt":"2024-06-18T01:33:57","slug":"niobium-ree-potential-crystallises-star-power-of-st-george-minings-large-c1-target-at-destiny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=11021","title":{"rendered":"Niobium-REE potential crystallises star power of St George Mining\u2019s large C1 target at Destiny"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A follow-up grid gravity survey for carbonatite target C1 has been fast-tracked with favourable results indicating a higher density core (gravity-high)<br \/>\nThe results further upgrade the prospectivity at C1<br \/>\nDrill targets and approvals at C1 are being finalised with drilling prioritised <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: Latest field work at St George Mining\u2019s Destiny project has uncovered a large, intrusive target with potential for niobium-REE mineralisation. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/st-george-mining-sgq\/\"><strong>St George Mining\u2019s (ASX:SGQ)<\/strong><\/a> 3,350km2 Destiny project in the Coolgardie mineral field covers 110km of the Ida Fault, a major crustal-bounding structure that is considered to be highly prospective for REE and lithium mineralisation.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/destiny-calling-for-st-george-as-gravity-survey-outlines-high-priority-targets-for-follow-up\/\"><strong>gravity survey<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0carried out at the Project earlier this year confirmed that four of six magnetic features have a high gravity signature raising the likelihood that they are carbonatites or mafic intrusions, which are known to host either niobium, REE or nickel-copper-PGE mineralisation.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Large intrusive target takes shape <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>SGQ has been homing in on the large, 2.1km diameter C1 target, which boasts a magnetic high rim and high gravity signature at its core \u2013 supporting the possibility for it to be a carbonatite or mafic intrusion.<\/p>\n<p>A follow up survey \u2013 which was completed earlier this month \u2013 delineated several discrete gravity highs within the C1 core that are coincident with discrete magnetic highs, a geophysical signature that may represent mineralisation and present as high-priority targets for drilling.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Hot colours (e.g. red\/purple) indicate high gravity (density) and cold indicate low gravity results. Pic: St George Mining<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Another gravity survey was also carried out over target C3, another interpreted intrusive magnetic feature located along a regional scale 30km fault that is a splay to the Ida Fault.<\/p>\n<p>The gravity results indicate a high gravity core signature at C3 supporting the potential of a carbonatite or late-stage mafic intrusion.<\/p>\n<p>C3 will also be prioritised for drilling as a second order target.<\/p>\n<p>A Programme of Works (POW) and heritage clearance applications have already been initiated in preparation for drill testing, which is anticipated to begin in the second half of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Accelerating approvals to begin drilling <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cC1 is a compelling exploration target, and we are pleased to have been able to complete the follow-up gravity survey quickly,\u201d SGQ executive chairman John Prineas says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese results are highly promising and further upgrade the prospectivity at C1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are accelerating approvals to be able to drill C1 and look forward to drilling this exciting target at the earliest opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with St George Mining, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
