First production is imminent from R3D Resources\u2019 (ASX:R3D)<\/a> 45,000t Tartana copper heap leach project in Queensland following the completion of a plant refurbishment.<\/p>\n

\u2018Heap leaching\u2019 involves piling ore on a pad then irrigating it with chemicals to dissolve the metal into a solution.<\/p>\n

Originally pencilled in for December 2022, first production at Tartana has been steadily pushed back, probably due to delays in the plant refurb.<\/p>\n

Tartana operated for around a decade before being placed in care and maintenance in 2014, producing 6,000-7,000tpa high quality copper sulphate pentahydrate.<\/p>\n

Alongside sales of a low-grade zinc furnace slag\/matte from its Zeehan project in Tasmania, Tartana will hopefully generate enough cash to underpin R3D\u2019s exploration activities in the Chillagoe region of QLD, it says.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a record year on the books expected by satellite and cellular tech company\u00a0Beam Communications (ASX:BCC)<\/a>, which says it is likely to meet its full-year guidance of about $4 million in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, and revenue of approximately $40 million \u2013 significantly ahead of its FY22 revenue of $23.7 million.<\/p>\n


\nGold 50 (ASX:G50)<\/a> has drilled into gallium paydirt in 11 of 14 holes at the polymetallic Golconda project in Arizona, including a highlight 308m at 28.6g\/t from surface.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not true width, and we don\u2019t know if those grades are consistent across the entire intercept.<\/p>\n

We also don\u2019t know for sure whether the grades are good or not, because it\u2019s gallium, an obscure metal no one knew existed until a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n

Used in semiconductors and other tech,\u00a0gallium is in the headlines after world\u2019s largest producer China announced export controls starting 1 August.<\/a><\/p>\n

This is expected to boost prices for the metal, which currently fetches ~US$230\/kg.<\/p>\n

Gallium is usually produced as a by-product of bauxite or zinc mining.<\/p>\n

Golconda was historically mined for lead and zinc, but also contains high grade gold, silver \u2026 and now gallium. It is also right next door to a big copper porphyry.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bastion Minerals (ASX:BMO)<\/a>\u00a0has announced an early exercise of Canadian lithium option \u201cpursuant to the Binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) with the shareholders of Austek Resources\u201d.<\/p>\n

This is in order \u201cto acquire three highly prospective lithium property packages located in Ontario, Canada\u201d, writes the exploration minnow, noting the negotiation of \u201csignificantly more favourable acquisition terms\u201d on the company\u2019s behalf.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Odessa Minerals (ASX:ODE)<\/a>\u00a0has confirmed the presence of extensive pegmatites in the Robinson Bore and Eastern lithium anomalies at the Lockier Range project in the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia.<\/p>\n

The exploration gem also detailed further lithium and REE exploration plans and the appointment of a new exploration manager and geoscience services team.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

And EZZ Life Science (ASX:EZZ)<\/a>\u00a0has reported cash receipts from customers totalling $13.5 million for the quarter, up 193% on pcp and 21% on the previous quarter.<\/p>\n

This growth was primarily driven by continued sales growth on its e-commerce distribution channels in international markets.<\/p>\n
