{"id":10863,"date":"2024-06-14T02:37:45","date_gmt":"2024-06-14T02:37:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10863"},"modified":"2024-06-14T02:37:45","modified_gmt":"2024-06-14T02:37:45","slug":"sun-silver-awards-contract-for-maiden-drilling-at-nevada-silver-gold-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10863","title":{"rendered":"Sun Silver awards contract for maiden drilling at Nevada silver-gold project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Drill Contract for Maverick Springs silver-gold project awarded to Alford Drilling<br \/>\nInaugural drilling program expected to commence in the coming weeks<br \/>\nMineralisation at Maverick Springs remains open in all directions and at depth<br \/>\nSilver Sun confident in pursuing multiple drill targets for resource expansion<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Sun Silver has awarded the drill contract to Alford Drilling to kick off its inaugural drilling program at its Maverick Springs silver-gold project in Nevada, USA.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The project, smack bang in the prolific Carlin Trend in Nevada, is surrounded by several world-class gold and silver mining operations like Kinross\u2019 3.7Moz Bald Mountain gold mine.<\/p>\n<p>A total of ~200 holes for ~60,000 metres of drilling was completed at Maverick Springs by previous owners, covering an area representing only ~20% of the property.<\/p>\n<p>This culminated in a hefty 292Moz silver equivalent resource at 72.4g\/t (175.7Moz silver, 1.37Moz gold) in large, continuous body 2.4km long, up to 1.2km wide, and between 30-110m thick. The deposit starts about 130m below surface.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s more where this came from, reckons SS1.<\/p>\n<p>The deposit itself remains open along strike and at depth, with <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/sun-silver-ss1\/\">Sun Silver (ASX:SS1)<\/a> looking to explore multiple mineralised intercepts located outside of the current resource constrained model.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Alford has the local knowledge<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Alford Drilling has decades of drilling industry experience working in places such as Lima, Peru; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Medellin, Colombia; and the US.<\/p>\n<p>The contractor is also based in Elko, just 85kms from the project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to grow our partnership with Steve, Laura and the team at Alford as we aim to further define and grow the already substantial Maverick Springs silver-gold asset,\u201d Sun Silver executive director Gerard O\u2019Donovan said.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pic: Sun Sliver\u2019s Maverick Springs asset location and surrounding operators.
