{"id":10820,"date":"2024-06-13T02:04:51","date_gmt":"2024-06-13T02:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10820"},"modified":"2024-06-13T02:04:51","modified_gmt":"2024-06-13T02:04:51","slug":"greentech-metals-gets-drill-bit-spinning-at-whundo-to-expand-copper-resource","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10820","title":{"rendered":"GreenTech Metals gets drill bit spinning at Whundo to expand copper resource"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Drilling is set to begin in the coming weeks at GreenTech\u2019s Whundo project<br \/>\nThe program aims to identify new resources following a project review carried out in early May<br \/>\nA downhole electromagnetic survey will kick off once drilling is completed and assist in the planning of follow-up drill holes <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special report<\/em>: Plans are being finalised for a staged ~2,200m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at GreenTech\u2019s 6.2Mt Whundo copper-zinc project. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As well as significant lithium prospectivity at the Andover project, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/greentech-metals-gre\/\"><strong>GreenTech Metals (ASX:GRE)<\/strong><\/a> holds exposure to copper at its Whundo asset in WA\u2019s West Pilbara, where a 6.2Mt resource grading 1.12% copper and 0.89% zinc has already been defined.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Copper has become the third most utilised metal globally with analysts tipping a surge in demand over the coming decade alongside a dearth of new projects and stagnant supply.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GRE has set out to harness this momentum by forming a copper focused alliance with <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/anax-metals-anx\/\"><strong>Anax Metals (ASX:ANX)<\/strong><\/a>, which could see ore from the Whundo project being treated at ANX\u2019s Whim Creek processing hub.<\/p>\n<p>The alliance is targeting more than 20,000tpa of copper equivalent production, and offers GRE a near-term opportunity to monetise open-pittable ore at Whundo while progressing exploration at the Austin, Shelby and Yannery prospects.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Whundo resources, prospects and targets over electromagnetic image.
