{"id":10620,"date":"2024-06-06T04:50:57","date_gmt":"2024-06-06T04:50:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10620"},"modified":"2024-06-06T04:50:57","modified_gmt":"2024-06-06T04:50:57","slug":"pantera-minerals-grows-smackover-lithium-tenure-another-20pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10620","title":{"rendered":"Pantera Minerals grows Smackover lithium tenure another 20pc"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pantera Minerals has increased its Smackover landholding by 20% up to 22,270 acres<br \/>\nAcquisition target of 25,000 acres on the horizon<br \/>\nMore acreage is under negotiation and exploration of the project continues<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Pantera Minerals has increased its landholding by 20% within the prolific Smackover Formation in Arkansas, where majors such as ExxonMobil and Albemarle are pouring in billions of dollars into developing a world-class lithium-brine mining jurisdiction.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Surrounding <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/pantera-minerals-pfe\/\"><strong>Pantera Minerals\u2019 (ASX:PFE)<\/strong><\/a> acreage to the east, north and northwest and contiguous with the project, Exxon Mobil (US$419 billion market cap) continues to conduct drilling operations on their leased acres.<\/p>\n<p>Exxon\u2019s strategic plan includes the construction of a sizeable lithium brine processing facility, aimed at advancing their project into full-scale production.<\/p>\n<p>Other majors such as Standard Lithium and Tetra Technologies also have stakes in the region, looking to develop lithium operations to feed the insatiable demand of the emerging North American lithium supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Norway\u2019s Equinor, a world-class energy company, has partnered up with US major Standard Lithium, investing US$160m for a 45% interest in two lithium businesses across the Smackover territory.<\/p>\n<p>Pantera\u2019s landholding and surrounding resources majors with projects in the prolific Smackover Formation. Pic supplied: (PFE)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Project development<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Within PFE\u2019s Smackover landholding lies its Lithium Brine play, where the explorer has already defined a 436,000-2.96Mt of contained LCE exploration target and multiple re-entry wells within its footprint.<\/p>\n<p>It recently engaged world-leading subsurface technology company SLB <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/pantera-taps-world-leading-oilfield-tech-company-to-define-the-smackovers-lithium-brine-potential\/\"><strong>to identify the potential of its Smackover lithium brine project<\/strong><\/a> ahead of drilling the first well.<\/p>\n<p>SLB is the world\u2019s leading subsurface expertise and technology company in the oilfield sector \u2013 easily translatable to exploring for lithium brine projects using DLE tech.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Acreage increase<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>PFE has added 3700 new leased acres within the company\u2019s flagship Smackover lithium brine project area, taking the total to 22,270 acres.<\/p>\n<p>The project is now a whisker away from its 25,000-acre target.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an outstanding result as we continue to lease in the USA\u2019s new \u2018lithium heartland\u2019, the Smackover play in Arkansas,\u201d PFE exec chair Barnaby Egerton-Warburton says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur exclusive abstract agreement continues to allow us to lease with little to no competition as our focus moves towards drilling, exploration and resource definition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Negotiations are ongoing to further increase Pantera\u2019s footprint in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with Pantera Minerals, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
