{"id":1057,"date":"2023-11-08T03:13:06","date_gmt":"2023-11-08T03:13:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=1057"},"modified":"2023-11-08T03:13:06","modified_gmt":"2023-11-08T03:13:06","slug":"gti-energy-looking-to-score-in-wyoming-as-it-preps-drilling-at-lo-herma-isr-uranium-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=1057","title":{"rendered":"GTI Energy looking to score in Wyoming as it preps drilling at Lo Herma ISR uranium project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GTI Energy is planning an initial drill program of up to 26-holes at Lo Herma to upgrade the maiden 71Mlbs inferred resource released during the September quarter<br \/>\nDrilling is also set to target exploration potential along trend in the Wasatch Formation and in the deeper Fort Union Formation which Cameco produces from ~10 miles west.<br \/>\nStaking of new claims to grow the Lo Herma project area<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em>: Permits and bonds are in place for drilling to start mid-November at the Lo Herma ISR uranium project in Wyoming\u2019s prolific Powder River Basin. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/div>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/gti-energy-gtr\/\">GTI Energy\u2019s (ASX:GTR)<\/a> Lo Herma is roughly 10 miles from the US\u2019s largest ISR U3O8 production plant at Cameco\u2019s Smith Ranch-Hyland, and ~60 miles from UEC\u2019s Irigaray &amp; Energy Fuels\u2019 Reno Creek.<\/p>\n<p>Lo Herma is home to a maiden resource of 4.12Mt at an average grade of 630ppm U308 for 5.71Mlbs contained metal, which lifts GTR\u2019s total inferred resources to 7.37Mlbs U308.<\/p>\n<p>Following the release of that resource in July, the company increased its exploration target for the project by roughly 25% to 5.32-6.65Mt @ 500-700ppm U3O8 for 5.87-10.26Mlbs of additional contained metal.<\/p>\n<p>Permitting has wrapped up and bonds are in place for a planned drill program in mid-November at Lo Herma. In addition GTI has received the final radiometric images, from their recent aerial geophysics program, which will help guide drill planning for 2024\u2019s planned maiden drilling at Green Mountain.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>November drilling preparations under way <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Initial drilling of up to 26 holes totalling circa 4,600m is being planned to validate and upgrade the resource further, as well as to target exploration potential along trend in the Wasatch Formation and in the deeper Fort Union Formation, which Cameco produces from ~10 miles west.<\/p>\n<p>The explorer has also secured an additional strategic area of 28 lode claims, contiguous with the existing land position at Lo Herma.<\/p>\n<p>These new claims contain several historical drill holes and hold \u201cexcellent exploration potential\u201d, particularly within the underexplored deeper sand units of the Fort Union formation, GTR says.<\/p>\n<p>Results from the recently completed airborne radiometric and magnetic surveys have been received, confirming GTR\u2019s exploration hypothesis.<\/p>\n<p>The company believes the suite of airborne geophysical survey products will prove invaluable in planning for future exploration for all of the surveyed properties.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>GTR\u2019s Wyoming project locations.
