{"id":10286,"date":"2024-05-29T20:00:54","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T20:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10286"},"modified":"2024-05-29T20:00:54","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T20:00:54","slug":"mt-malcolm-mines-bulk-sampling-to-test-golden-crowns-gold-mining-potential","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10286","title":{"rendered":"Mt Malcolm Mines bulk sampling to test Golden Crown\u2019s gold mining potential"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mt Malcolm Mines to carry out bulk sampling at the Golden Crown gold prospect<br \/>\nProgram will verify grade and continuity and evaluate feasibility of mining at the prospect<br \/>\nInitial 500t pilot to begin within the next fortnight to process high-grade ore<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> Mt Malcolm Mines will soon carry out a bulk sampling program to test up to 8000t of gold ore at its Golden Crown prospect to further explore and evaluate its gold mining potential.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Golden Crown is the first of several prospects within <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/mt-malcolm-mines-m2m\/\"><strong>Mt Malcom Mines\u2019 (ASX:M2M)<\/strong><\/a> 275km\u00b2 Malcolm project in WA\u2019s prolific Goldfields region that is undergoing detailed exploration in order to build a high-grade resource.<\/p>\n<p>The prospect within the Malcolm Dam prospect area is a historical gold producer that yielded more than 1720oz at an average grade of 29g\/t gold but saw relatively minor exploration.<\/p>\n<p>Previous work by the company delivered an exploration target of between 120,000t and 150,000t grading from 10 g\/t to 15 g\/t gold for Golden Crown, or about 42,000-79,000oz of gold.<\/p>\n<p>More recently, reverse circulation drilling focused on a 150m by 120m target corridor interpreted to host plunging ore shoots\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/mt-malcolm-soars-to-record-heights-with-a-whopping-61-39g-t-gold-intersection-at-golden-crown\/\"><strong>returned a peak assay<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0of 1m grading 61.39g\/t gold between 16-17m and five intercepts above 15g\/t gold.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/mt-malcolm-mines-cheered-by-golden-crown-test-work-achieving-94-3pc-gold-recoveries\/\"><strong>Metallurgical testing<\/strong><\/a> has also proven remarkably successful with preliminary work using direct cyanide leaching on five samples composited from 25 mineralised single-metre intervals \u2013 sourced from four of its February 2024 drillholes \u2013 returning recoveries exceeding 93%.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The proposed bulk sampling area and proposed collars for grade control drilling at Golden Crown. Pic: Mt Malcolm Mines<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Bulk sampling to evaluate Golden Crown\u2019s mining potential<\/h2>\n<p>The bulk sampling program, approval of which has been received from the WA Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation, and Safety (DEMIRS), will target a 50m long and 15m wide mineralised corridor identified by the recent successful drill campaign.<\/p>\n<p>M2M will kick operations off with a 500t pilot within the next fortnight to process the high-grade ore by wet gravity separation at a nearby third-party plant.<\/p>\n<p>Bulk sampling work is not only expected to assist with verifying gold grade and continuity at Golden Crown, it will also evaluate the feasibility of any potential future mining operations that can provide a saleable gold product to the company.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe primary objective of the bulk sampling work is to enhance understanding of the ore\u2019s geological properties, such as grade variance, metallurgical characteristics, and future mineability,\u201d managing director Trevor Dixon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis information is crucial for planning efficient and cost-effective mining operations.
