{"id":10223,"date":"2024-05-28T19:00:57","date_gmt":"2024-05-28T19:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10223"},"modified":"2024-05-28T19:00:57","modified_gmt":"2024-05-28T19:00:57","slug":"cufe-completes-heritage-survey-ahead-of-maiden-north-dam-lithium-drilling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10223","title":{"rendered":"CuFe completes heritage survey ahead of maiden North Dam lithium drilling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CuFe completes heritage survey for North Dam lithium drilling<br \/>\nAdditional PoW extending scope and coverage of Stage 1 drill program approved<br \/>\nFurther rock chip sampling of potential host pegmatites for anomalous REE and Niobium mineralisation to be carried out<br \/>\nRC drilling expected to start in July 2024<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report:<\/em> CuFe is laying the foundation for drilling at its North Dam lithium project near Coolgardie, WA, with completion of the first heritage survey and approval of additional Programme of Works to extend the program\u2019s scope and coverage.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>North Dam sits between \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/mineral-resources-min\/\"><strong>Mineral Resources\u2019 (ASX:MIN)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Mt Marion lithium mine and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/develop-global-dvp\/\"><strong>Develop\u2019s (ASX:DVP)<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Pioneer Dome lithium project in the WA Goldfields\u2019 booming lithium corridor, about 50km south-southeast of Coolgardie.<\/p>\n<p>A recent geochemical soil program carried out by <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/cufe-cuf\/\"><strong>CuFe (ASX:CUF)<\/strong><\/a> had extended the project\u2019s known lithium anomalies out <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/lithium-drilling-poised-to-begin-as-cufe-lines-up-3-5km-of-targets\/\"><strong>across 3.5km of strike<\/strong><\/a>, creating multiple targets for a Stage 1 drill program.<\/p>\n<p>Previous rock chip sampling had also confirmed the majority of pegmatites trend northwest and outcropping pegmatites range from 10-450m in strike length and from 1-30m in width.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Heritage survey completed<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The company has now completed an archaeological and ethnographic heritage survey of priority Stage 1 drill areas as part of the preparation for ongoing exploration including reverse circulation drilling.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the drill targets have been further refined with field mapping and interpretation of the initial soil geochemistry.<\/p>\n<p>These areas will be infilled with a higher density of soil sampling prior to pad preparation and execution of the RC program.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the lithium exploration field work has followed up on anomalous rare earths, niobium, columbite and tantalite rock chips while soil geochemistry and detailed pegmatite mapping has identified three pegmatite bodies that might be potential sources of the columbite and tantalite chips.<\/p>\n<p>As such, the company has extended the initial Programme of Work (PoW) approved by the WA government based on the new data and interpreted areas of high potential.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPreparations for the maiden RC program are progressing well and completing our first heritage survey for the tenements is an important milestone,\u201d executive director Mark Hancock said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thank the Marlinyu Ghoorlie Native Title Claimant Group for their support and look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the PoW finalised for the lithium targets and some new rock chip results expected over the next two weeks that could help pin down the source pegmatites for the niobium and tantalum mineralisation we have seen previously within stream channels, it is an exciting time for the project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Next steps<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Findings from the heritage survey are expected in the next two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>CUF has also shortlisted drill contractors and plans to launch the RC drill program in July 2024.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>This article was developed in collaboration with CuFe, a Stockhead advertiser at the time of publishing. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>This article does not constitute financial product advice.
