{"id":10145,"date":"2024-05-27T03:47:36","date_gmt":"2024-05-27T03:47:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10145"},"modified":"2024-05-27T03:47:36","modified_gmt":"2024-05-27T03:47:36","slug":"arizona-lithium-starts-drilling-deep-at-its-prairie-brine-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10145","title":{"rendered":"Arizona Lithium starts drilling deep at its Prairie brine project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Drilling of Pad #1 down to 2700m has commenced at Arizona Lithium\u2019s Prairie<br \/>\nProduction testing from the wells to commence in June<br \/>\nDrilling ongoing across Pad\u2019s #1-3 over the coming months<br \/>\nThe drilling is fully funded with AZL\u2019s current cash reserves at $18 million<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report: <\/em><\/strong><strong>Lithium-brine developer Arizona Lithium has kicked off well drilling at Pad #1 at the advanced Prairie project in Saskatchewan, Canada, with production testing expected to start next month.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prairie, in the Williston Basin of Saskatchewan, has a current resource of 6.3Mt of lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE), with 4.5Mt in the indicated and 1.8Mt LCE in the inferred categories.<\/p>\n<p>The project is in one of the world\u2019s top mining-friendly jurisdictions, with easy access to key infrastructure including electricity, natural gas, fresh water, paved highways and railroads.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/arizona-lithium-azl\/\"><strong>Arizona Lithium\u2019s (ASX:AZL)<\/strong><\/a> aim is to have strong environmental and sustainable credentials, targeting to use less freshwater, land and waste as part of its sustainable approach to lithium development.<\/p>\n<p>It recently <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/arizona-lithium-achieves-impressive-steady-state-95pc-recovery-rates-from-prairie-pilot-plant\/\"><strong>achieved steady-state 95% recovery rates at Prairie\u2019s pilot plant<\/strong><\/a>, where it\u2019s already produced 13,500L of lithium concentrate ahead of Phase 1 production pegged for next year.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Well drilling at Pad #1<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The first two wells on Pad #1 are being drilled as vertical wells down to a depth of 2700m. Well #1 will test the Souris River and Duperow Formations, while Well #2 will test the Dawson Bay Formation and specific disposal targets in the Madison Group.<\/p>\n<p>Having production wells and disposal wells in place is a key component of Prairie\u2019s development and brings the project one step closer towards commercial production.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Well-detailed schematic of Well #1 and #2. Pic supplied: (AZL)<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rig has been delivered to site, the first well has been spudded and AZL is now drilling lithium wells,\u201d Paul Lloyd says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOperating in a mature and well-developed oil and gas province, this enables us to efficiently access the skills and services required to develop and fast track our project,\u201d Lloyd says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are very deep holes being drilled by a heavy-duty oil drilling rig.
