{"id":10125,"date":"2024-05-27T01:24:29","date_gmt":"2024-05-27T01:24:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10125"},"modified":"2024-05-27T01:24:29","modified_gmt":"2024-05-27T01:24:29","slug":"airborne-survey-fast-tracked-after-western-yilgarn-uncovers-up-to-26-targets-at-ida-holmes-junction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/economicherald.net\/?p=10125","title":{"rendered":"Airborne survey fast-tracked after Western Yilgarn uncovers up to 26 targets at Ida Holmes Junction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AEM survey of 26 targets at Western Yilgarn\u2019s Ida Junction Holmes brought forward two weeks<br \/>\nSurvey and auger results to combine to create targets for upcoming drilling<br \/>\nIda Holmes is highly prospective for copper, nickel, PGEs and lithium <\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Special Report<\/em><\/strong><strong>: Western Yilgarn has brought forward the starting date of a Phase 1 airborne electro magnetic (AEM) survey over its Ida Holmes Junction project ahead of a 5000m drill campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/western-yilgarn-wyx\/\"><strong>Western Yilgarn\u2019s (ASX:WYX)<\/strong><\/a> 477km\u00b2 Ida Holmes Junction project is across the intersection of the Holmes Dyke and the Mt Ida Fault, ~50km southwest of Gold Fields\u2019 Agnew gold project, and is considered highly prospective for copper, nickel, platinum group elements (PGE) and lithium.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s also close to <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/bhp-bhp\/\"><strong>BHP\u2019s (ASX:BHP)<\/strong><\/a> Leinster and Mt Keith nickel operations, <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/delta-lithium-dli\/\"><strong>Delta Lithium\u2019s (ASX:DLI)<\/strong><\/a> 12.7Mt at 1.2% Li2O Mt Ida lithium project and <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/company\/liontown-resources-ltr\/\"><strong>Liontown Resources\u2019 (ASX:LTI)<\/strong><\/a> 156Mt at 1.4% Li2O Kathleen Valley.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Auger drill targets<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>pXRF analysis of Phase 4 auger infill drilling has <a href=\"https:\/\/stockhead.com.au\/resources\/western-yilgarn-faced-with-embarrassment-of-riches-at-ida-holmes-junction\/\"><strong>extended high priority N1 and N4 nickel-copper-PGE targets<\/strong><\/a> at Ida Junction Holmes to the south and added two new targets of the same type.<\/p>\n<p>Auger samples were analysed using the latest portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) technology \u2013 a real time sampling tool typically used to identify areas of promise \u2014 is a valuable tool for helping with exploration decisions.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s taken the total number of identified targets up to 26 (15 nickel-copper-PGE and 11 LCT pegmatites) at the E36\/1066 tenement, where the AEM survey will be conducted.<\/p>\n<p>AEM surveys measure the natural variations in the electrical resistivity of rocks, soil and water deep below the surface to help explorers narrow down drill targets.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Ida Holmes Junction and surrounding projects. Pic supplied: (WYX)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><strong>AEM results crucial for drilling<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The highly anticipated AEM survey commencement date has been brought forward from ~8th June to ~25th May. It will run for 10 days ahead of an upcoming AC\/RC drilling program.<\/p>\n<p>1800 linear kilometres and 350km2 on 200m line spacing will be flown by UTS Geophysics and it\u2019s Helicopter Borne VTEM and Magnetic Geophysical Survey technology.<\/p>\n<p>The findings and interpretation of both the auger geochemistry and AEM Survey will combine to provide critical planning for the upcoming 5000m AC\/RC drilling campaign.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>AEM survey locations with historical and priority targets found from auger drilling.
